Pride, what you can build upon Pt. 1
Let’s start off by knowing that we can’t build anything upon Pride. It is a foundation that is often proven fault filled. A foundation as firm as quick sand yet as glamorous as glitter. Knowing such we(society) still embrace the term “self-made”. A phrase that’s been coined by some of the most notable elite in entertainment, business etc. However, near the end of their “infamous reign” we the spectators are informed with a truth that was often pushed aside. The mere fact that they were never truly “self-made” from the beginning. That in fact, their emergence as a shooting star glimmering in the night was ignited by more than just their countless hours of hard work. More than their elite analytical skills for trends and financial statements. That there latched secretly in the facts, in the details of their capes of glory weaved together through, good breaks. Series of fortunate events that’s often are defined as fate or grace. That near the end of their glamour and fame you hear a phrase that is much frequently stated such as; “Only God… Could of done all of these things, I’m amazed at house blessed I truly am”. Well…. Which leads you to ask, what happen to the proud arrogant young lion that arose to fame over night who used to boast in his pride. Has the environment that he once fed on, now turned her into prey?
What’s wrong with pride? I’m not sure that question can be correctly answered without a stipulation. For example what’s wrong with food? Nothing really, unless you over indulge. Something that is meant to be nutritious and vital for livelihood now becomes a fatal weapon to deter your health in the form of obesity. Using a similar example, pride can become a sub product of self righteousness and arrogance which ultimately will become a weapon to lead to anyone’s demise.
Where did pride first come from? I’m sure man would infer that pride was on the earth from the dawn of civilization. And if that civilization includes the spark of the rulership of Nimrod, then in fact they would be somewhat correct. As you recall, the Tower of Babel was the primary fruit of a society of people full of self righteousness and poor demonic leadership. But I think it may be spiritual first before physical. If you follow most of my short writings, that is my belief on much of the creation of the world. Either in the creation of your mind or the bible, I believe it all stems from the premise of spirt first. Let’s view the biblical text first;
We know that pride is associated with “a great fall”
First pride, then the crash— the bigger the ego, the harder the fall. (Proverbs 16:18 MSG)
The irony of this and many of the verses written by Solomon is that he often fell in the very traps that he warns us about. The faults and fumbles of Solomon can be found throughout the book of Ecclesiastes and 1st Kings. (But that is for a article titled “You have Solomon all wrong”)
If pride is always the precursor for the great fall, perhaps we can see the first fall that was catapulted by pride.
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? (Isaiah 14:12-17 KJV)
The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. (Psalms 10:2-7 KJV)
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. (Ezekiel 28:13-19 KJV)
In case you missed it allow me to make a quick summary. This individual became full of pride because of his wisdom, beauty and ability. In the act of puffing himself up his head began to swell. That eventually all that helium caused him to be kicked out and accelerated his fall into a place that we refer to as hell. (Hell was initially made for him and his demons.. Not you and your enemies)
Why did I start in Ezekiel or Isaiah or Psalms instead of Genesis? That’s simple, when you read the bible you notice that Genesis tends to give a origin or “genesis” of mankind. But does not fully express in detail all other creations. So although the first fall of mankind took place in the book of Genesis, the first spiritual fall did not. That first spiritual fall is bested expressed in Ezekiel and Isaiah.
Is the first fall in chapter 11 of Genesis with Nimrod? No. Let me prove this to you using the word to divide the truth.
Look closely at the fall of man. And please do not blame the woman. We as a society are just now realizing that she in fact was not to be held responsible for what transpired. However Adam was and the fall of mankind should be on his name alone and not hers. As a matter of fact, the Holy Spirit throughout the bible never brings up the wrong deed of Eve after Genesis. Only the deed of Adam.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:45, 47 KJV)
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:17-19 KJV)
The fall of mankind took place in the third chapter of Genesis. But what happen directly after the consumption of the fruit is the true killer.
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. (Genesis 3:5-7 KJV)
What’s the big detail that we often overlooked? It’s the fig tree or the leaves of the fig tree. When Adam realized he was in the wrong he immediately sought to reconcile the wrong himself. What did he do? Sow fig leaves together. Out of all the options … Instead of asking for forgiveness, admitting his wrong(confessing) or having a communication with God about his mistake and turn away(repentance). He instead attempted to do it all with his own self effort. What transpired was that when his “conscious” was changed, his “positioning” then changed. Not position as far as physical location… The movement of his physical location from Eden took place later as a conclusion of his current action. But the change of rulership, glory(of God) and dominion as “The King” of the earth. (Adam was in fact the god of earth.. With a little g.. Putting him in similar class, yet under God in rulership. In Hebrew you “name” things that you own or have rulership of. This is what Adam put in practice as he named every living creature.)
Through self righteousness Adam, attempted to make his own wrongs right. We now know in the New Testament that if Adam would of asked for forgiveness and repented all would of been forgiven. (Sure there would still be some repercussions.)
What am I getting towards???…..
What does this have to do with pride???….
I’m happy you asked!
The word “Fig” is mentioned in the bible 41 times. However it is significant each time. And extremely important in the New Testament. The bible conceals and reveals constantly between the two testaments. The New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. And the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed. To dive deeper will take another article. Yet at the moment, viewing Galatians 4:21-31 will make it all more understanding. In fact most of the Apostle Paul speaks on this… Continuously. “Fig” is mentioned 16 times in the New Testament. Let’s look at the first few times when used with Jesus.
And as He saw one single leafy fig tree above the roadside, He went to it but He found nothing but leaves on it [seeing that in the fig tree the fruit appears at the same time as the leaves]. And He said to it, Never again shall fruit grow on you! And the fig tree withered up at once. (Matthew 21:19 AMP)
What’s the big deal? You may ask, so what if there were fig leaves with no fruit. Yet that is the premise that the Holy Spirit wants the reader to become aware of. Any knowledgeable person familiar in the area of horticulture or fruit trees understands that a fig tree sprouts leaves once it begins to grow fruit. Yet what we see is a fig tree that appears to have the ability to produce fruit and is unable. How many times have you met a person that appears to have their life together and yet don’t. How many times have you set across a table from someone… Looking to conduct business… And the individual is unable to perform. And yet their pride of looking the part never equates to producing the goods. Do you see now the irritation of your Savior? The interesting part is that many Christians overlook the mere purpose of this description in the bible.
By now and through many studies you should know that whenever God mentions “trees” he is referring to “man”. And that “water” is the Holy Spirit himself. Trees are of the earth and they shield or provide for other living creatures. Trees only survive from water. Water or the dew comes from heaven, the increase or blessings rain down from heaven. There are so many text that reveal this continuously.
So [as the result of the Messiah’s intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. [Matt. 8:11; Luke 13:29.] (Isaiah 59:19 AMP)
Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones out of the brook and put them in his shepherd’s [lunch] bag [a whole kid’s skin slung from his shoulder], in his pouch, and his sling was in his hand, and he drew near the Philistine. (1 Samuel 17:40 AMP)
For each tree is known and identified by its own fruit; for figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor is a cluster of grapes picked from a bramblebush. (Luke 6:44 AMP)
If you still don’t understand why this is, you truly need to mature and quickly.
HOWEVER, BRETHREN, I could not talk to you as to spiritual [men], but as to nonspiritual [men of the flesh, in whom the carnal nature predominates], as to mere infants [in the new life] in Christ [unable to talk yet!] I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not yet strong enough [to be ready for it]; but even yet you are not strong enough [to be ready for it], For you are still [unspiritual, having the nature] of the flesh [under the control of ordinary impulses]. For as long as [there are] envying and jealousy and wrangling and factions among you, are you not unspiritual and of the flesh, behaving yourselves after a human standard and like mere (unchanged) men? (1 Corinthians 3:1-3 AMP)
One day you will quit treating the bible as a fable and will actually begin to see the allegory and truth hidden throughout the ages. One day you’ll quit reading scriptures as a way of skimming and reaching no true revelation. And until then you will still be a babe… And no age has nothing to do with the wisdom maturity of Christ.
Here’s a biblical hint … The New and Old Testament mirror each other if you understand it a little clearly. This is why we still use the book of Isaiah to confirm the prophesy of today becoming true.
Tell me, you who are bent on being under the Law, will you listen to what the Law [really] says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the bondmaid and one by the free woman. [Gen. 16:15; 21:2, 9.] But whereas the child of the slave woman was born according to the flesh and had an ordinary birth, the son of the free woman was born in fulfillment of the promise. Now all this is an allegory; these [two women] represent two covenants. One covenant originated from Mount Sinai [where the Law was given] and bears [children destined] for slavery; this is Hagar. Now Hagar is (stands for) Mount Sinai in Arabia and she corresponds to and belongs in the same category with the present Jerusalem, for she is in bondage together with her children. But the Jerusalem above (the Messianic kingdom of Christ) is free, and she is our mother. For it is written in the Scriptures, Rejoice, O barren woman, who has not given birth to children; break forth into a joyful shout, you who are not feeling birth pangs, for the desolate woman has many more children than she who has a husband. [Isa. 54:1.] But we, brethren, are children [not by physical descent, as was Ishmael, but] like Isaac, born in virtue of promise. Yet [just] as at that time the child [of ordinary birth] born according to the flesh despised and persecuted him [who was born remarkably] according to [the promise and the working of] the [Holy] Spirit, so it is now also. [Gen. 21:9.] But what does the Scripture say? Cast out and send away the slave woman and her son, for never shall the son of the slave woman be heir and share the inheritance with the son of the free woman. [Gen. 21:10.] So, brethren, we [who are born again] are not children of a slave woman [the natural], but of the free [the supernatural]. (Galatians 4:21-31 AMP)
What does this have to do with pride or self righteousness?
When you look at the ego battle of the pharisees in the time of Christ. You will notice that it was their self righteousness that made the word of God of no effect. That in fact most of the issues that they had with Him is that He claimed that “all” of God’s children are like and on the same status yet under God. If it sounds familiar… That’s because that is exactly what the garden of Eden was .. A platform for Adam to mimic God, but on a lower dimension. Yet the pharisees enjoyed obtaining status that was appointed by man through titles and accolades. (Sounds like present society).
Jesus answered, Is it not written in your Law, I said, You are gods? [Ps. 82:6.] So men are called gods [by the Law], men to whom God’s message came–and the Scripture cannot be set aside or cancelled or broken or annulled– [If that is true] do you say of the One Whom the Father consecrated and dedicated and set apart for Himself and sent into the world, You are blaspheming, because I said, I am the Son of God? (John 10:34-36 AMP)
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. (Psalms 82:6-7 KJV)
Why would the pharisees have such an ongoing issue or disdain for Him? It’s because it changed their religious thinking. Their thinking was so stiff and stifled by procedures and false images of self righteousness that they had no understanding only rules and nice clothing. They essentially dressed the part but could show no fruit.
Thus you are nullifying and making void and of no effect [the authority of] the Word of God through your tradition, which you [in turn] hand on. And many things of this kind you are doing. (Mark 7:13 AMP)
And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? (Luke 13:14-16 KJV)
Why were the self righteous pharisees upset? Because of “protocol”. But what’s the part that’s over looked??? How is it that Jesus did “not sin” in going against the very law that He made? Simple he understood the law. The law was made for man .. Not the other way around. How could He perform a work of God not lead or operating through his Father? Wouldn’t that be the same for you?… Are you not a child of the most high? But if there is no understanding… How can you utilize? You would have to mature in your understanding and let the self righteousness go.
Do you recall earlier, Galatians 4:21-31? Where revelation of one of the many mysteries of the Old Testament was revealed? In the beginning of the chapter he (Paul) shows the reader once more the comparison of knowing and operating. That in order to be a operator you must have understanding or wisdom.
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:1-7 KJV)
Let me put it in layman terms. With no understanding or wisdom. The same things that are created to “serve you” will become your master. In other words, the same things that are built to serve you, you will begin to serve them. Why? Because you have no true knowledge or understanding that they’re meant to serve you. Why would you chase after money, when it’s made to chase after you? Simple … You have no wisdom of your heir status. It’s not enough “to know”. You have “to operate” and be lead by the One who works through you.
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (Mark 2:27-28 KJV)
Let’s be honest, the whole bible is about ONE THING. And that subject is “TRUST”. That’s it. Trust enough to be lead without really seeing or “knowing”(leaving carnality, the lead of or through emotions). Trust to believe that by the works of another you’re righteous and that not boastfully of your own might or ability. That’s it … TRUST.
But how many of us can agree that it’s hard to lead a horse when it chooses to be as stubborn as a mule? Exactly. It’s the same with you … No one including God himself, can lead or teach you anything if you’re self righteous and thinking that you know everything. That’s called pride. Society wants you to think that legendary icons like Micheal Jordan or Muhammad Ali were cocky individuals who blazed their own trails. Wrong … They were extremely humble. They only showed prowess of arrogance, cocky or confidence when in the face of an opponent. And that wasn’t more less just for the opponent but it was equally for their own self confidence. Yet for training and preparation they activity searched for high criticism from their coaches. And in retrospect they became great by being lead by men much less than them. They would belittle or shrink behind close doors to learn more to become great. Humble enough to be trained, trained enough to practice, practiced enough to execute, executed enough to be great.
“We expected he’d get better because of that, and he did, year after year. A player with that kind of talent who works as hard as Michael did has a chance to do great things, and he was smart about it. He’d listen closely to what the coaches said and then go do it.” -Dean Smith (College Coach of MJ)
Wait a second… You mean to tell me the only thing that separates the greats are two things … Being lead/listening … And acting on what they’ve been taught. Yes .. That’s it. But you have to step aside from yourself in order to act. In the era of technology .. Everything is at your fingertips. Anything you desire is available. And yet most know what it takes to “do something”. And yet they don’t “act” on what’s been taught. Do you now see the correlation of individuals who have numerous education degrees and yet have no rest or wealth. But take pride in the protocol of the degree. Claiming to know but never truly act.
Seek after a mentor, or at least read, mimic and apply. But please don’t think that it’s all done on your own. Even Bill Gates had Ed Roberts, Apostle Paul had the Holy Spirit and the Old Testament, Warren Buffet had Benjamin Graham. Even Jesus was lead by the Holy Spirit. And you think you’re different?
But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John. But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (Mark 10:40-45 KJV)
And Jesus called them to Him and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men hold them in subjection [tyrannizing over them]. Not so shall it be among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, And whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave– Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free]. (Matthew 20:25-28 AMP)
Even JESUS paid a price of becoming the lowest to receive the earth. And you think you’re different? Even Tyler Perry was homeless … And no I’m not saying he’s Jesus, but he is a son of God who knows to operate.
We could go on and on about this. And the truth is that even the small anomalies who chose not to be lead or humble enough to learn eventually do. But often times it’s too late as the empire that they’ve built on pride begins to decay.
I think this is a great example. And possibly another example of a biblical werewolf. (I couldn’t resist, it’s comical to visualize).
Quick background on Daniel chapter 4. This chapter is the King Nebuchadnezzar himself writing this. After he had to be humbled from God. Also pay attention to the methodology of your Father using the tree.
NEBUCHADNEZZAR THE king, to all people, nations, and languages that dwell on all the earth: May peace be multiplied to you! It seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed toward me. How great are His signs! And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation. [Dan. 7:13, 14; Luke 1:31-33.] I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house and prospering in my palace. I had a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts and imaginations and the visions of my head as I was lying upon my bed troubled and agitated me. Therefore I made a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me the interpretation of it. But at last Daniel came in before me–he who was named Belteshazzar, after the name of my god, and in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God–and I told the dream before him, saying, O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you and no secret mystery is a burden or troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen and the interpretation of it. The visions of my head [as I lay] on my bed were these: I saw, and behold, [there was] a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great. The tree grew and was strong and its height reached to the heavens, and the sight of it reached to the end of the whole earth. Its leaves were fair and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all. The living creatures of the field found shade under it, and the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches; and all flesh was fed from it. I saw in the visions of my head [as I lay] on my bed, and behold, a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven. He cried aloud [with might] and said, Cut down the tree and cut off its branches; shake off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the living creatures flee from under it and the fowls from its branches. Nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the midst of the tender grass of the field. Let him be wet with the dew of the heavens, and let him share the lot of the living creatures in the grass of the earth. Let his nature and understanding be changed from a man’s and let a beast’s nature and understanding be given him, and let seven times [or years] pass over him. This sentence is by the decree of the [heavenly] watchers and the decision is by the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High [God] rules the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whomever He will and sets over it the humblest and lowliest of men. [Dan. 2:21; 5:21.] This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. And you, O Belteshazzar [Daniel], declare now its interpretation, since all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for the Spirit of the Holy God is in you. Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished and dismayed and stricken dumb for a while [concerned about the king’s destiny], and his thoughts troubled, agitated, and alarmed him. The king said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream or its interpretation trouble or alarm you. Belteshazzar answered, My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you and its message for your enemies. The tree that you saw, which grew [great] and was strong, whose height reached to the heavens and which was visible to all the earth, Whose foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant, on which was food for all, under which the living creatures of the field dwelt, and on whose branches the birds of the sky had their nests– It is you, O king, who have grown and become strong; your greatness has increased and it reaches to the heavens, and your dominion to the ends of the earth. And whereas the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, Cut the tree down and destroy it, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth with a band of iron and bronze around it, in the tender grass of the field; and let him be wet with the dew of the heavens, and let his portion be with the living creatures of the field until seven times [or years] pass over him– This is the interpretation, O king: It is the decree of the Most High [God] which has come upon my lord the king: You shall be driven from among men and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field; you shall be made to eat grass as do the oxen and you shall be wet with the dew of the heavens; and seven times [or years] shall pass over you until you learn and know and recognize that the Most High [God] rules the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whomever He will. And in that it was commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be sure to you after you have learned and know that [the God of] heaven rules. Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you; break off your sins and show the reality of your repentance by righteousness (right standing with God and moral and spiritual rectitude and rightness in every area and relation) and liberate yourself from your iniquities by showing mercy and loving-kindness to the poor and oppressed, that [if the king will repent] there may possibly be a continuance and lengthening of your peace and tranquility and a healing of your error. All this was fulfilled and came upon King Nebuchadnezzar. At the end of twelve months he was walking in the royal palace of Babylon. The king said, Is not this the great Babylon that I have built as the royal residence and seat of government by the might of my power and for the honor and glory of my majesty? While the words were still in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you, And you shall be driven from among men and your dwelling will be with the living creatures of the field. You will be made to eat grass like the oxen, and seven times [or years] shall pass over you until you have learned and know that the Most High [God] rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He will. That very hour the thing was [in process of] being fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from among men and did eat grass like oxen [as Daniel had said he would], and his body was wet with the dew of the heavens until his hair grew like eagles’ [feathers] and his nails [were] like birds’ [claws]. And at the end of the days [seven years], I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding and the right use of my mind returned to me; and I blessed the Most High [God] and I praised and honored and glorified Him Who lives forever, Whose dominion is an everlasting dominion; and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. And all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing. And He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth, and none can stay His hand or say to Him, What are You doing? Now at the same time my reason and understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and splendor returned to me, and my counselors and my lords sought me out; I was reestablished in my kingdom, and still more greatness [than before] was added to me. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, Whose works are all faithful and right and Whose ways are just. And those who walk in pride He is able to abase and humble. (Daniel 4:1-37 AMP)
So are you a Heir .. Or a Servant? Thou you be lord of all … How do you operate? What does your fruit exhibit?
